FURTHER UPDATE IN RELATION TO THE CORONAVIRUS - March 24, 2020

Allied Express wanted to provide a further update on the measures that we are taking to ensure that we are in a strong position to continue to deliver during these challenging times. We are mindful that supply chains and delivery systems are now crucial, and we have implemented these measures to ensure the health and wellbeing of our staff, drivers, our customers and their receivers, and the wider community.

Temperature testing at all facilities

As of this morning, Allied Express has implemented controls at every entry point to our facilities, both offices and depots, to temperature check staff, depot staff, drivers and authorised visitors entering our facilities. This proactive measure was taken to minimise the risk of anyone who is unknowingly infected entering our facilities, and passing on the virus. By doing this, we feel strongly that we have taken every possible measure to safeguard our workforce as they continue to work throughout this situation. Segregation of operations

Allied Express have implemented measures in our Head Office to segregate the movement of staff between our three areas of operation. Staff will be entering and exiting via separate doors, and only essential movement between areas is occurring.

Duplicate Call Centre and Dispatch Centre operations

Allied Express have now configured our telecommunications software to route calls in a number of different patterns to allow for various redundancy plans, including routing calls through different states, and through different physical locations in our Head Office. We have also set up duplicate dispatch centres in our Head Office that can accommodate operations from all capital cities, as well as having redundancy options in each of our state operations hubs. All staff have been cross trained, especially ensuring that everyone can take a customer booking, and assist with customer service enquiries.

Advanced recovery processes

Plans are now being enacted to ensure that we be self-reliant and prepared in the instance of having to disinfect an office facility or depot in the quickest possible timeframe.
